Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between SPECA and Korean companies signaled that the cooperation will improve the technology, resources and technical capabilities of local contractors in Sarawak.
KUCHING: Efforts to deal with oil and gas industry contracts in Sarawak Offshore waters have been continuously strengthened through Memorandum of Understanding (MOA) agreements between the Sarawak Petroleum Contractors Association (SPECA) and the Pacific Ocean Industry (POMI) and Fields Engineering (PIELDS).
Yesterday's Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between SPECA and Korean companies signaled that the cooperation will improve the technology, resources and technical capabilities of local contractors in Sarawak.
SPECA President Datuk Rahman Lariwoo said SPECA's engagement between partners in the oil and gas industry will open more avenues for local contractors in Sarawak.
He said this cooperation provides the main contractor with the opportunity to participate in industrial development with regard to high knowledge, skills and resources.
SPECA aims to sign oil and gas contracts, particularly in the offshore waters of Sarawak, such as Petronas, Petros and other large state-owned oil companies in Malaysia.
SPECA's president concluded the association meeting held here on Wednesday and told a press conference, "By cooperation with Korean companies, the Sarawak government is confident that the Sarawak government will support SPECA on oil and gas related projects at the government level.
Meanwhile, POMI General Manager Mekey Yang has a lot of experience in various EPCIC fields, including oil and gas fields, including onshore and offshore, and two companies representing Korean companies are SPECA based on our knowledge and experience as a Korean EPC company. He said he would like to contribute to the Sarawak economy by actively supporting all industries in the country.
Accordingly, SPECA expressed great gratitude to POMI and PIELDS for the cooperation through this MOA, and said that they were grateful for enabling us to establish long and lasting relationships in the future.
